Lapis is a mixture of at least three minerals: lazurite, calcite & pyrite. Ground lapis was the secret of the blue in ultramarine, the pigment which painters used to paint the sea and the sky until the nineteenth century.
Handmade in India, This beautiful necklace is made from chipped pieces of lapis lazuli and hangs 36” long. A gorgeous piece to wear or wrap around as a bracelet.
