This colourful copper ore is composed of copper iron sulfide in the form of chalcopyrite and bornite. The tarnishing process, which created the multiple colours, has been induced by treatment in acid. Peacock ore is found in Mexico, USA and Canada. Its colours are related to the quantities of iron (red), copper (blue-green) and gold coloured pyrite and galena.
Peacock Ore is a stone of happiness and joy and is said to turn you in positive directions. Peacock Ore will also provide protection from negativity and helps to inspire hope. This stone can also bring you the ability to see and appreciate the joy in every moment, as well as a feeling of acceptance that all is exactly as it should be. Peacock Ore is said to be one of the most powerful stones when used in conjunction with chakra healing as it’s energy is such that when placed on one chakra it effects all of the others. It is also a wonderful meditation stone.
