Spirituality Frankincense Resin Incense 1oz

Embrace the ancient ritual of resin burning!

Frankincense (also known as olibanum), is an aromatic resin used in incense and perfumes, obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia family. There are five main species of Boswellia that produce true frankincense. Resin from each of the five is available in various grades, which depend on the time of harvesting and the growing conditions. The English word frankincense derives from the Old French expression franc encens, meaning "high-quality incense". The word franc in Old French meant "noble" or "pure". Frankincense is characterised by a balsamic-spicy, slightly lemon, fragrance of incense, with a conifer-like undertone.

Frankincense is used in perfumery and aromatherapy. It is also an ingredient that is sometimes used in skincare. Frankincense is used in many Christian churches as gold, frankincense, and myrrh were believed to be among the gifts brought to baby Jesus.

Frankincense fosters protection and spirituality. Use it to diffuse stagnant mental, physical and emotional energies. Burning frankincense dispels negativity and will enhance confidence and self-esteem therefore improving deep meditation and psychic visions.

How to Burn: On a ceramic dish place a charcoal disc and light until it becomes a hot ember. Place a few pieces of resin on top and let scented smoke surround you. Note: Charcoal discs can be very smoky, best to light near a window or outdoors. You can also place a little bit of light vegetable or sunflower oil in an oil burner, add resin and embrace the natural scent! Find full instructions on how to safely burn resin incense here.
