Vitality Myrrh Resin Incense
Description
Embrace the ancient ritual of resin burning!
Myrrh is a natural gum or resin extracted from a number of small, thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora. Myrrh resin has been used throughout history as a perfume, incense, and medicine. When people harvest myrrh, they wound the trees repeatedly to bleed them of the gum. It has a slight earthy smell that some say smell like black licorice. Myrrh gum is waxy and coagulates quickly, After the harvest, the gum becomes hard and glossy. The gum is yellowish and may be either clear or opaque. It darkens deeply as it ages, and white streaks emerge. Much like frankincense, myrrh is not an herb but a resin, and appears with some relevance in a number of religious and spiritual contexts.
In some forms of Eastern medicine, myrrh is used for its restorative properties. The scent is said to boost the spirits and the soul, and is often used to alleviate the symptoms of nervous system disorders. In the Western world, myrrh sometimes is included as an ingredient in toothpastes and mouthwashes, thanks to its analgesic properties. In the Bible, Myrrh was one of the three gifts given by the wisemen to the newborn baby Jesus. Myrrh will help boost vitality and mysticism. Burning myrrh expands wisdom, enhances meditation rituals and fortifies ones spiritality. Use it for purification ceremonies and to banish dark, evil forces. When myrrh is used with other resins it can boost their power.
